Our story.

Our founder, Mike Hollander, built his first spec house in Bellingham, Washington in 1970, launching his success into the property development industry. After building approximately 100 homes and three apartment complexes in the area, he built the Best Western Heritage Inn in 1984. This inaugural hotel was owned and operated by Hollander Investments until it was sold in 2012. Since 1984, Hollander Investments has continued to expand in Western Washington and Portland, Oregon.

Today, Hollander Investments is now Hollander Hospitality, a name that truly reflects the passion, dedication and talent at the core of who we are and what makes us successful, our people. We are still a family business, operating office buildings, apartments, and seven hotels.

Hollander Hospitality is committed to being a positive community member, from participating in United Way’s Annual Day of caring, Habitat for Humanity work parties, and offering hands-on internships or sponsoring a team in Bellingham’s Ski to Sea race. We see the importance of staying involved. Giving back is also an important part of our culture. We are actively involved in Kidstown International, also founded by Mike Hollander. Originally known as Kidstown Romania, this 501 (c)(3) organization focuses its expanded support to orphanages in Romania, Nepal and India.
