Hollander Hospitality AnnouncesAlissa DeLong as General Manager of Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma Downtown

Tacoma, WA - May 05, 2025 - Hollander Hospitality is proud to announce the promotion of Alissa DeLong to General Manager of the Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma Downtown, where she will bring her deep operational expertise and people-first leadership to the heart of downtown Tacoma’s hospitality scene.

Alissa’s hospitality career is rooted in Pierce County, where she began as a front desk agent and banquet team member and grew through the ranks with a focus on both guest service and team development. She began her management career with Hollander Hospitality, serving in various leadership roles including Banquet & Event Manager at Best Western Puyallup, Sales Manager, and Guest Service Manager, before being promoted to General Manager at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Puyallup.

During her time in management, Alissa helped lead properties to exceptional performance, including earning multiple IHG Torchbearer Awards — one of the brand’s highest honors — a reflection of strong operational performance and consistent guest satisfaction.

After a brief stint in Florida, where she further honed her skills as General Manager of a full-service Holiday Inn in Orlando, she returned to Washington and the Hollander Hospitality family as General Manager at Fairfield by Marriott Tacoma Puyallup. Her return was driven by her appreciation for Hollander’s values and culture, stating “Coming back to Washington and rejoining Hollander was like coming home.”

“I’ve always felt a strong connection to Hollander’s people-first approach,” said Alissa. “Being part of the Courtyard Tacoma Downtown team is an incredible opportunity to lead in a vibrant location with so much potential. I’m passionate about building strong, empowered teams and delivering meaningful guest experiences. I can’t wait to help take this property to the next level.”

Alissa’s leadership is grounded in mentorship and collaboration. She’s deeply committed to team development, and takes pride in helping individuals grow into confident, capable leaders within the hospitality industry.

Alissa is also active in the local tourism community, having served on Pierce County’s TPA (Tourism Promotion Area) committee and the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, helping to shape local hospitality and tourism strategies.

A graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in psychology, Alissa brings a thoughtful, people-centered approach to her leadership style — balancing strategic thinking with genuine care for her team and guests alike.

Outside of work, you’ll find Alissa on the move — running, hiking, biking, backpacking, skiing, and traveling the world with her husband. Her personal motto? “Take risks, seek out adventure, and strive to be a great leader every step of the way.”

Please join us in congratulating Alissa on her new role. We’re excited to see the positive impact she’ll make at Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma Downtown!
